Erdogan says water from Turkey could be 'water of peace' for GCs
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that if the GC side encounters issues later on with regards to water, then the water brought to the north via pipeline could be a ‘water of peace’.

Speaking on a TV programme yesterday, Erdogan responded to questions regarding the water pipeline project. Reminding that the massive project had cost 1 billion 600 million lira to construct, the Turkish President said the TRNC would have potable water as well as water to use for agriculture.

He added that if the Greek Cypriot side encounters difficulties with their water, then this water can be a water of peace for them. Erdogan noted however that the GC side has already rejected this water and said they would not take it.
