Independent presidential candidate Mustafa Akıncı said that the principles he was voicing on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot community were greatly supported by people in all regions.

“People are winning this elections, the principles I voice on behalf of our community find support not only in Nicosia, Kyrenia and Lefke but also in Karpas and Famagusta and with this strong support we will win this election” said Akıncı.

Speaking about Varosha during the event organised in the framework of his election campaign Akıncı said they defined Varosha as a “corpse”. “Instead of living side by side a corpse let Varosha become a lively city where people live, contractors from both communities do business together and young people can find jobs” said Akıncı.
